What will determine the clarity and quality of my Baby’s Images?
Many factors determine the quality of the images. We use sophisticated equipment and our team is specialized in taking the best 3D-4D ultrasound pictures, however, there are several parameters that are out of our control that will determine the clarity and quality of the images.Ultrasounds usually give excellent images of the baby, but not in a systematic way. The position of the baby, the amount of amniotic fluid, the position of the placenta, hands or the umbilical cord near the face are all factors that can influence the images of the face. We recommend to all mothers who have an appointment with Bébévizion, to drink water extensively 3 consecutive days before their 3D-4D ultrasound session. It is proven that good hydration increases the quality of the images. In the event that the face of your baby would not be visible during the session, we will offer you another session with no additional charge. Please note that there will be no reimbursement.
Are there any risks associated to the mother or the child?
3D ultrasounds and 4D ultrasounds are done in the same way as a 2D ultrasound done in the doctor’s office: the mother’s belly is coated with gel and a probe is then passed on. The ultrasounds emitted are the same as in a 2D ultrasound, only the scanning method is changed, thereby allowing to see baby in three dimensions. A 3D probe coupled with an external image reconstruction system, allows you to visualize the baby’s external features.
According to Health Canada; “The clinical use of fetal ultrasound has grown rapidly and it has an excellent safety record. There have been millions of examinations over the past few decades with no confirmed health risks for the baby or the mother. This finding is consistent with the majority of scientific studies on the effects of ultrasound.”
In pregnancies with complications, some women may have ultrasounds every week with their doctors without any problems caused either to the mother, or to the child.
Before starting your 3D ultrasound, you will have all the necessary explanations on the images which you will be shown in order to fully benefit from this magnificent moment.
When you come to Bebevizion after your 22nd week of pregnancy, you have already had your first medical ultrasound prescribed by your gynecologist, there is therefore no risk of discovering a malformation on the child.
What is a 3D & 4D Ultrasound?
The 3D ultrasound (3 dimensions) uses the same functionalities and same principals as the 2 dimension ultrasound (traditional 2D in black and white). In addition, it offers a 3D transducer as well as a software which reconstructs the images from 2D to 3D. These characteristics allow to rebuild true density pictures of the fetus from such reflected ultrasound waves. Our device has the capacity to provide pictures in 3D real-time (with movement). They are then called 4D ultrasounds.
At your doctor’s office, you do not have the time to admire your baby as you would have liked to. In general, they do not offer the 3D images, and for those who offer it, the ultrasounds are done quickly. The doctors usually have many other issues to deal with, therefore they do not have the time to please their patients. When you visit us at Bébévizion, you come to do just that; please yourself! It is an amazing moment you can share with your spouse, the baby’s grand-parents, siblings, God-parents, or friends. If you are curious to see your baby’s face for the first time, or his little feet, we are there to give you that amazing opportunity. It will be your special moment!!
Can you confirm the gender of my baby?
